No More Light Bearer

Wer hier ab und an mitliest, weiß ja um meine Schwäche für Light Bearer. Tja, schlechte Neuigkeiten: Vor wenigen Tagen haben sie ihre Auflösung bekannt gegeben. Via Facebook teilten sie mit:

Bands are relationships. They become as complicated and effected by emotion as love. It struggles through the ups and downs. Light Bearer was always a huge challenge, and in many ways we bit off more than we could chew, that in five years our lives changed, our focuses shifted and we lost sight. We've pulled together numerous times, and fallen apart too. Ultimately when the weight of a band starts to upset the people it comprises of, that's when we have to take a step back and decide what's best for us, a band or our happiness. It is with that in mind that we have made the difficult decision to end Light Bearer.
We leave the story of Lucifers struggle in many ways complete. We may not see the war against the authority and his vile doctrine, but that is a war far from over. We are not sure if perhaps in the future we will find a way to come back to this and complete the task, but as it stands Light Bearer is no more. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support of our project, it would not have been possible without it.

Natürlich bin ich vor Wehmut nicht gefeit. Gut, ein wenig Kontinuität steckt schon dahinter, waren doch Fall of Efrafa auch als Projekt verstanden und 2009 beendet worden. Nur hatten die Fans mit Light Bearer noch einen adäquaten Anschlusszug, auf den sie aufspringen konnten. Das scheint mir zu fehlen.

Mit vielleicht zwei Ausnahmen. Die eine ist Anopheli (Bandcamp/ FB), die andere ist The Napalese Temple Ball (Bandcamp) – wobei ich mit Letzterer Band erst noch warm werden muss. Ich bin jedenfalls mal gespannt, ob sich die beiden mal in Germany/ Austria blicken lassen. Jedenfalls wäre es mal wert, die beiden auf der Bühne zu erleben.
